Nestled near the southern shore of Lake Annecy, Hôtel de L’Arcalod invites you to discover a 3-star hotel in Doussard where hospitality, authenticity and good food come together. The same family has welcomed guests here since 1949: Paul and Jeanne founded the house, their son Roger took over with his wife Martine and today their grandson Brice carries on the tradition. Whether you are planning a romantic getaway, a family vacation or a relaxing weekend in Haute-Savoie, our house is the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the lake and the mountains.
What makes the difference here is the choice of rooms. Five categories, all air-conditioned with a reversible system that cools in summer and warms on chilly evenings, let every traveler find the right fit:
- Double Standard, 12 m², for a short stopover
- Double Comfort, 18 m², one or two beds
- Double Superior with balcony, 25 m²
- Double Premium with private garden terrace
- Premium Family, 35 m², for up to five
Every room has a shower, a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, a hairdryer and toiletries. Upstairs rooms are served by an elevator, while the Premium rooms open directly onto the garden at the quiet back of the building. There is no fridge in the rooms, but our reception team is happy to keep your picnic or the cheese you bought at the market cool until you need it. Traveling with a baby? A crib can be added in every category except the Double Standard. Dogs under 20 kg are welcome for a small supplement. Check-in runs from 3 pm to 10 pm and check-out is at 11 am. Your stay also includes free access to our 3,000 m² wellness garden, whatever room you choose. The heated pool, whirlpool bath and hot tub are open from 9 am to 9 pm and the wooden sauna from 4 pm to 8 pm. From the hot tub, look up: the summit rising above the garden is the Arcalod, the highest peak of the Bauges range, which gave our house its name.
The morning starts with a generous buffet breakfast of fresh, homemade and local products, served in the restaurant or on the terrace. Booking directly with our hotel in Doussard keeps things simple: for stays of one to three nights, a card guarantee is enough, you pay on site and cancellation is free up to ten days before arrival. For four nights or more, a 30% deposit secures your reservation.
Savor homemade cuisine in a unique setting
At the heart of L’Arcalod, Bistrot Jeanne blends a modern bistro feel with a warm, natural atmosphere. Plants, natural materials and a sunny terrace set the scene, so whether you are dining indoors or outside, every meal feels like a small break from the everyday. The restaurant is open to hotel guests and outside visitors alike, every day from May to September, from breakfast through dinner, with bar service in between. Breakfast is served as a buffet from 7:30 to 10 am, at €14.50 for adults and €9.50 for children aged 2 to 12, free for the little ones.
Our kitchen has one simple philosophy: generous, homemade and above all local food. From the hive, the field or the farm to your plate, we work with producers from the valley whom we know personally. Among them are La Ferme du Praz Candu in Serraval, the Miellerie du Bout du Lac for honey, Les Salaisons du Mont Charvin for cured meats, La Maison Mollex and the Coopérative du Val d’Arly. The menu follows the seasons, which is why dishes change as summer goes on.

La Pergola deserves a special mention. This nomad tent with a one-of-a-kind decor becomes the star of summer evenings, whether you come for a cocktail at sunset or a relaxed dinner under the canvas. It is very popular, so we strongly recommend booking your table ahead.
Staying several nights at a Doussard hotel with its own restaurant has real advantages. Ask our team about half board, which combines a full breakfast with dinner at Bistrot Jeanne. After a day hiking or cycling, it is a real comfort to know your table is waiting a few steps from your room, with no need to drive anywhere. The bar is the natural place to end a day at the pool with a cold drink on the terrace.
Bistrot Jeanne is also the ideal spot for a casual after-work drink, a family celebration or a quiet evening for two. Birthdays, christenings and group meals can be organized with a tailored menu. Located at the southern tip of Lake Annecy, our hotel in Doussard is a perfect base to explore the surrounding area. Doussard sits where the lake meets the Bauges mountains, which means you can swim in the morning and hike in the afternoon without spending your vacation in the car. Whether you prefer nature, culture or outdoor sports, everything is within easy reach.
The easiest way to explore is by bike. Our standard bikes are lent free of charge at reception, with no booking and no deposit, while four e-bikes are available to rent for the day. The Annecy Greenway passes close to the hotel and follows the lake all the way to Annecy on a flat, car-free path. L’Arcalod holds the Accueil Vélo label and a locked garage keeps your own bikes safe overnight.

Old Annecy, often called the Venice of the Alps, is well worth a morning. Its canals, colorful facades, the Palais de l’Isle on the Thiou River and the castle overlooking the town make it one of the most charming places in the Alps. Closer to the hotel, the Bout du Lac nature reserve protects a wide wetland at the very end of the lake, crossed by easy footpaths that are lovely early in the morning or at dusk. Getting here is easy, too. The Y51 bus from Annecy train station stops at Doussard Poste, a three-minute walk from our door, while Geneva airport is 65 km away. If you come by car, parking is free right across the street, with two charging points for electric vehicles.
